As promised, we are back with another iteration of the Linguistic Justice Workshops, now under the theme of Multimodal Variation. This time we have the pleasure of introducing the first event of the year with Professor Claudia Elena Menéndez Fernández (University of Oviedo). This event will be followed by a roundtable in which Dr. Darío de Dios Sanz (University of Oviedo), Dr. Avelino Corral Esteban (Autonomous University of Madrid), and Miriam Villazón Valbuena (University of California, Riverside) will be discussing the topic presented on the workshop.

Continuing with our 2022 goals, the team will continue with our workshops. For this academic year, we will emphasis in Linguistics Justice & Multimodal Variation.
For our first workshop, we have the pleausure of starting with an international presentation from Aleksandra Miaskowska, from the Uniwersytet Mikołaja Kopernika w Toruniu. She will be presenting: Julka from Twitter as an example of eponyms’ role in modern Polish culture. To register, follow the QR that you can find in the poster. We are back for February!!
This time, we have the pleasure of having Dr. López Ruiz from the Universidad de Córdoba (UCO). She will share with us: La traducción de la literatura infantil y juvenil (EN-FR-ES) para el aprendizaje de la segunda lengua extranjera y la transmisión de valores.

We are happy to announce our third workshop for this series. Now we have the pleasure of having Dr. Torre from Università Degli Studi di Genova with us to talk about: ¿Gallego lengua impuesta? Narrativas sobre el bilingüismo en Galicia.

After our first wonderful presentation, we will continue with another excellent presentation by Dr. Agustina Carando from the University of California, Davis.
In this workshop, titled Heritage Spanish writing complexity, we will have the opportunity to learn about this matter and create a space to share ideas and continue progressing in the field.

WORKSHOP PRESENTATIONS
Sadly, we have to say goodbye to this series of workshops that we had the great opportunity to organize last year, a year full of continuous changes and challenges. Even with the uncertainty of the previous academic year, we were able to create a space to share ideas to advance efforts towards Linguistic Justice in Teaching Spanish.
We want to record here the excellent presentations that we had the pleasure of sharing.

We are excited to continue our series of workshops. This time we are incredibly pleased to have a wonderful opportunity to learn about teaching Spanish in California from some of the UC campus Spanish language coordinators.
We have the pleasure of having the coordinators from UCR, UC-Merced, UCLA, UCSB and UC-Davis sharing the challenges, experiences and pedagogial approaches to teaching Spanish in California as a part of the UC-system.
